Lucid smudges: Serving up comics on a psedo-regular basis.
The author is Lucas James, taking his second shot at success in college.
Seriously, if I could take classes professionally I would. However, I have a healthy appreciation for things outside of school too, and would like to parlay my knowledge gained here into all sorts of different jobs.
Nearly all of my “media” is absorbed digitally. I get my news from news.google.com, I read blogs instead of magazines, and if you cut me, I would hopefully bleed whatever it is they put in iPhones that make them so awesome.
Another thing I have delivered digitally is books. I read “Kafka on the Shore” by Haruki Murakami over the holiday break on the recommendation of a friend. I’m a Murakami fan and would recommend his books to anybody who wants to think a bit.
Guess what? I get my movies online too. I use Netflix more often than crack-heads use the pipe. I think every movie has good qualities, and you have to respect anybody that tries to document a vision on film (or cassette, or harddrive, for that matter.) Recently I watched the teen-drama movie “Can’t Hardly Wait” again. Hilarious.
I only wish I could major in everything. Unfortunately, I’m going to have to compromise and go with business. I’m seeking a Associates in Arts degree at the moment and taking it from there.
This about was mostly written as an assignment for school. Let me say this about being a student though: it is much easier than working. All joking aside, a “full load” in college is like a vacation. I’m enjoying it after going astray (read: working) for 5 years or so.
